Founded in 2019, Groningen-based VRelax offers a Virtual Reality app designed for people with mental and physical complaints. It is not only a relaxation tool against stress, burnout, and anxiety, but also a distraction tool for physical discomfort and technical medical procedures. The application was developed together with patients, healthcare professionals and clinicians. VRelax's innovative VR application offers numerous lifelike and unique Virtual Reality (VR) worlds for instant relaxation. These worlds are enriched with various virtual interactions and exercises for instant distraction and relaxation. Scientific research has shown that users experience 40% less stress within 10 minutes, which helps thousands of patients every day, greatly reducing the workload for healthcare professionals. VRelax is on a mission to help healthcare providers in the transition to affordable and accessible care. The growing team consists of enthusiastic, creative and driven people from the healthcare, science and ICT industries. VRelax works with health insurance companies and the Dutch government to assess what is needed to make appropriate healthcare technology accessible at a strategic and national level.
